Go Studio Wraps Up Another Successful Capstone Program
November 30, 2021

Health plans can now offer comprehensive at-home care and lifesaving solutions alongside other benefits on a single card

Go Studio, InComm Payments’ emerging technology incubator, is celebrating the successful completion of the third semester of its capstone project in partnership with Kennesaw State University (KSU).

This past fall semester, four students in KSU’s College of Computing & Software Engineering (CCSE) program, Harshitha Gamini, Estephanos Mekbib, Miche Isaac and Kannaraj Sadula, received mentorship from Go Studio’s team as they explored the theme “Retail of the Future,” working towards ideas featuring applications of computer vision and artificial intelligence that would enhance the shopping experience.

The students met regularly with Go Studio’s team during the capstone project, which was overseen by Dr. Ying Xie, their capstone advisor and professor of computer science at KSU. The 15-week project prepared students for careers in their chosen fields with hands-on industry experience while allowing them to enhance and apply their classroom skills and knowledge solving real-world business problems.

“This collaboration with KSU students is a great opportunity to exchange knowledge with the next generation of developers (and consumers) as they prepare to enter the workforce,” said Michael Parlotto, VP of Emerging Technologies and head of Go Studio. “We’re excited to continue our fruitful relationship with the successful completion of the capstone experience for this cohort, and we look forward to new projects in 2022.”

The partnership, established in 2020, aims to provide learning experiences for students through projects that explore the latest in emerging technologies. Since 2020, 12 students have collaborated with Go Studio’s team, focusing on computer vision, artificial intelligence, machine learning and other emerging technologies. In addition to the hands-on experience offered through the partnerships, Go Studio is funding scholarships to participants.
